I am obviously not documenting ever hike I ever do, but I'm bored so I'm doing this one. Wasn't even really a hike I just wanted to be outside so I sat at a bench for like 40 minutes then spent the next 30 minutes nosing around looking for trash to pick up and trying to find a way to get under this nearby bridge (unsuccessful :( ).

I got off work early and decided I didn't want to go home yet so I sat around at this park I know still in my work uniform, which is not ideal by the way. It's all black and I also wear a binder, which gets pretty hot pretty quick, but I decided I wanted to be outside so whatever. I had plenty of water on me so I figured I'd live.

This was the view from the bench. It was pretty nice. Hot and humid, but there was a nice breeze coming from my left, and it made nice sounds brushing through the trees. There was occasional bird chatter from northern cardinals and some barn swallows that were flying gracefully above the river. Look at that cloud framing those trees dude; hell yeah, like a fucking Romanticism painting.

Some palms still were flowering, which I think are pretty, and they attract a lot of cool insects. Plus, while they're not fragrent enough to smell from a distance, if you stand near one and the wind hits you right, it's such a nice but gentle smell.

Spent a bit of time squatting at the water. I always like it when little flowers grow by the shore, they're so pretty. I didn't go there this time, but at this same park there's a distance island that cuts the river in two, and it's made of tall grasses with yellow and purple flowers spotted all down the shore, it's really beautiful.

On the note of these shore flowers, whatever this thing was must have been pollinated because it was solid black before exploding like a popper as soon as I lightly touched it, it was kinda fun.

While I was searching for a path to the bridge, I found this fishing line hooked into a tree. Obviously, nothing against fishing, but please PLEASE try to locate any loose hooks and fishing lines, these things are serious hazards to any local wildlife. So many pelicans around here have fish hooks stuck in them or break bones getting tangled in fishing line.

Also found a mushroom colony while looking, there were a bunch of these mushrooms all in the same area so I assume it's the same organism. This one looks a little bit. Shouldn't have looked like a pancake if you didn't want to get bitten, dumbass. Look at that smilax next to it too, the thorny vine. Those things are real assholes, I've poked holes in so many pants or nearly ate shit so many times because of those things.

Here's the trash hall, which I think it pretty good considering I barely moved at all for the 2 hours I was out there. Remember, if you wanna help out, always bring a trash bag or something with you when hiking to pick up trash in! These things don't go away once you stop looking at and forget them.

Got chased out of the park eventually by a incoming lightning storm (though listening to the thunder and seeing the lightning in my rear view mirror was a little fun), but I said hi to this guy before I left. Look at his little toes!!!!!!!!

I don't know why I'm writing all this. This is not like a essay or a real thought. Take away message: the world is really scary so go outside and have fun looking at little flowers and listening to the wind or something. It's MY website, if I just want to talk about stupid shit and running around a park like a child, that is what I will do.

The world is loud too. Seems like I can never escape the noise, I really hate it. I wake up and the TV my parents watch drones on all day long, and then I'm on the road going to work and I get passed by these dickheads with their loud, popping trucks. And of course at work it's all noise and squeaking and children crying all day. Sometimes there's genuinely nothing better than just sitting outside and literally just staring at the water for a hour straight. It's not silent, but it is quiet. Was the world always this loud?
